In the beginning of October, Mattel's 2016 content was released, and Team Turbo and Team Turbo Fusion Tek were confirmed to be under production. In 2016, before the movies were confirmed by Mattel, Sam Vincent confirmed on his Twitter account that few animated films were on the way. The movies first aired on Latin America and months later on Europe by CITV. Days later, Mattel confirmed its 2015 content, revealing three new movies for the franchise.

In April 1, 2015, the movie Dawn of Morphos unexpectedly aired on Cartoon Network for the entire Latin America. Two trailers were made to promote the movies, with one of them revealing that this smaller season was meant to be titled as "Duo Strike" as a reference to Max and Steel's abilities of combining their Turbo Modes.

This being said, if I was a decade younger I wouldn't have been this critical about the story and the acting so kids will probably find it entertaining.Ī movie based on a toy should be a whole lot more fun than this.In 2015, after the end of the second season, Mattel ordered a total of three 44 min. The story is predictable and the acting would be a lot more palatable if there was a little less shouting. Most of the shouting comes from the lead actor playing Max and the character is quite possibly the worst conceived superhero I've ever seen. The least I was hoping for was to be mildly entertained with a bit of humor and bit of action but the movie is just full of people shouting over each other over the most banal of things which gets really annoying quickly. United as the superhero Max Steel, the two friends must combat an alien menace and unlock the secrets of their past. When teenage Max McGrath discovers his body can generate the universe's most powerful energy, he must bond with the only being able to contain it - a mysterious techno-organic extraterrestrial named Steel. The adventures of teenager Max McGrath and his alien companion, Steel, who must harness and combine their tremendous new powers to evolve into the turbo-charged superhero Max Steel. Max Steel will be one of those forgettable films that will disappear until the studio plans a reboot.
Joe movies seem more like a masterpiece than this. Will be one of those films that tried to be something like other toy brand movies like G.I. Max Steel is a terrible film that I would not recommend at all. Maria Bello and Andy Garcia are decent but their performance cannot be saved from what they were given to work with. Ben Winchell and Ana Villafane performance was one-dimensional and bad to the part were it feels noticed that they just been reading the script and not delivering any much of a characteristic. There is a couple of no name actors that people have never heard of and probably never will. The acting was atrocious from about every one in the film. Even, the tornado sequence with a bad guy chasing down Max was quite horrible. The visual effects were also terrible as we see ripples of energy coming from Max. It looked like they did not even hire a fight choreographer.
The action and fight scenes were so basic. The direction was so boring, that the music score nor script did not help with trying to get you to even care for these characters. It was so obvious that he is not a person, who he says he is. The script is rushed with no plot, no character development, and filled with cheesy unrealistic dialogue. Once, Max learns about his father and the past about him and an alien named Steel (voiced by Josh Brener) are just preparing to facing against an evil force known as ultilink.
After the death of his father when he was young, the father left a company that is focused on esoteric energy that is now in charge by Dr. Sure, it is an origin story for Max (Ben Winchell), who feels lost with the constantly moving around with his mother. When it does, it tries to create an expanding universe with an alien looking human that can utilize esoteric energy and then having these small aliens looking robots that fly and feed off energy. The plot is filled with holes, terrible logic, and does not clearly tend to make sense. I would not be surprised if a fan made video was filmed better than this. Max Steel is horrible and something they attempted to get away with it from a low budget, a cheesy script, some no name actors, and a direction that is very tedious. If you really want to waste your time with it. This is basically one of those films were you can go in with no expectations.
